You damn right its a fantasy. I've met plenty of women from overseas (from many different contries, but mostly Central and South America), and I'm not speaking for all of them, but the one's I met were anything but submissive! This reminds me of that long ago standup routine by Eddie Murphy about how poor women from Africa would make better wives than American Black women.

Women in other countries want things out of living in the world too and in many cases are willing to fight harder and louder than American women for those things. In a lot of cases, they are putting up with worse behavior from men than a lot of American women, so I don't know where western men got this idea that "foreign" men have all their women in lockstep, have no standards of behavior and/or willing to put up with men's bullshit, and that those women are just sitting around and waiting for American men to show up and save them from their desparate situations.

From the reading I've done such men seem to be after vulnerable women in depserate circumstances who are willing to accept abusive behavior to get out of those sitations. They want a frightened and weakened partner they can take advantage of, someone who has no choice about being with them, will act eternally grateful for their salvation, and can't leave easily them.
