You are correct, sir!

For most of my life I’ve had to enjoy the things I’ve enjoyed, and absolutely no one in my immediate sphere gave a single damn about, but that didn’t stop me from becoming the biggest possible nerd! For me, a huge comic book geek, the MCU is one of the greatest things to come out of Hollywood, along with Scorcese.

I love Scorcese’s movies. I’ve watched Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, and Casino multiple times, but you know what else I’ve watched multiple times? Suicide Squad. I know it’s not a great movie, and that most people pretty much hate it, but I still love the hell out of it, and even get excited to watch it every time it airs on network tv. Why?

Because Martin Scorcese is not the lens through which I view my entertainment. He is not the barometer I use to determine if something is good or not. Superhero movies are just something that don’t resonate with him, and I decided I’m not him (or anyone else) and I can and will form my own opinions about what I find entertaining.

Halloween, Bladerunner, and The Thing were all heavily planned by the “gatekeepers” of cinema when they were released too, and now they’re all considered to be classics.
