Yes, men are socialized to be ashamed of even asking or needing the help of others! Men are supposed to just do everything alone when they don't have a wife/servant to do the work for them.

I do sometimes think it's worse for men in some ways. I have female friends and family who check to see if I'm okay when something happens to me. I also know a lot of men don't even have that much.
