Yeah, the age old question of separating the art from the artist.
We are increasingly learning that a lot of the art we admire was created by some deeply shitty human beings. I think it's on an individual level whether or not you can still enjoy the art created by a horrible person. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't and it's not a consistent thing.
In my case, my mind won't let me enjoy anything made by an artist that's been created after I learned about the horrible behavior, so I can watch Mel Gibson's movies made before I knew about his bigotries, but I can't seem to watch anything after that. I can enjoy anything by Michael Jackson, but draw the line at Roman Polanski and Woody Allen, two men I never liked anyway! I liked R. Kelly but dropped all his music off my playlists because I simply cannot enjoy it knowing what I know.
See, its just not a consistent thing. I just boycott certain artists according to my feelings. I don't ever try to tell other people about them though. I usually just leave it up to the person.
