Yeah, some of us never got to see ourselves onscreen until recently, and what kinda movies is she watching anyway! I’m seeing plenty of middle aged actresses in some great roles, some of them even look like me, and they are kicking ass, taking names, and giving people what-for! As a 53 year old black woman I’m getting more representation in film and tv than I’ve ever seen in my life, (but still not enough and I’ve been looking hard for it).

People in my environment see and speak to me. They often show me a level of respect that they didn’t ten or twenty years ago.
