Yeah, I just finished watching The Young Woman and the Sea and it was beautiful .it was also a part of history I never knew about until the resurgence in movie theaters of the life of another woman who swam the English Channel. So I started researching that and there have been at least a couple of women (one of them was Black!) whose names I never knew who swam the English Channel, and there was one Black Englishman (he gets a cameo in the movie), that I never heard of.

It's not just women whose achievements get ignored and erased. It's All women and most PoC, and yet, we just keep getting more and more stories about "important" white men like Napoleon, and Oppenheimer.
