Yeah, I don’t think you need tweets to prove this! All of women’s interests and hobbies are often mocked and devalued by society until some guy figures out how to make money from it. Nursing, secretarial work, fiber crafts and other types of jobs used to be done by men and were more or less respected until women started filling those positions, then came the low pay and the disrespect. Now it’s simply gotten to the point where anything women do outside of being in the house and popping out babies (and more than a few things they do in the house as well) is mocked, derided, and devalued.
When men are involved in something as a career choice then people take it seriously, like making a career choice out of playing video games. Tony Hawk is a grown ass man still riding a skateboard, but people treat him with more respect than a teacher, a nurse, or hell, a woman who knows how to make something useful, like a sweater or a meal. Men can engage in noncaretaking, unproductive jobs that serve only their own egos, but they’ll be respected and lauded for doing it.
