Wow! This is incredibly funny, (not!)
I bet the same White people decrying “Whiteness Studies” are the same ones who disingenuously ask why there isn’t a White History Month every February, (since the only time they remember to ask such distracting questions is during the one month when Black people get to officially celebrate our accomplishments.)
Personally, I’m all for White people having a whole-ass month in which to celebrate their many, many, accomplishments. And I mean all of them. Everyone, especially people of color, should all have the entire month off, and we should all dwell, in exacting detail, on everything White people did in this country. Hell, we can even call it Whiteness Studies, if they want!
I’m sure that will be simply loads, indeed scads, of splendiforous fun, for all those White people who keep yelling “What about us, though?” during that one month when we get to toot our own horns.
But seriously, they need to make up their minds, or at least be consistent. Do they want to have their accomplishments pored over in exacting detail, or not?
