Speaking from my Librarian pov, this is exactly how you Parent with books. You encourage, you show by example, you apologize when you make a mistake, you explain, and correct.

And speaking to him about what he reads encourages him to ask questions and talk intelligently about the what he consumes, and encourages his general media literacy.
