Uh, I didn't mean my family were saints. They got issues, they just generally don't try to hurt each other with them, and that kind of behavior is not encouraged because you will be disinvited the next year for ruining the event. Everyone seems to understand that despite any dysfunction we are all there to have a good time, eat sone good food, not ruin it for other people. So people got opinions but they keep them to themselves. Later, after the event, I will find that so and do doesn't like or approve of someone else.
Of course this may also have something to do with the less intimate setting of rented halls. We're rarely sitting together at a small table where we can't avoid people we don't get along with.
Every year I keep seeing these articles about this and it's just interesting to me that this is what some people go through.
