Two solutions is too not let cops stop people for suspicion of crimes or for victimless crimes like broken tail lights or expired plates. Take down the license and description and send a bill. But most traffic stops are entirely unnecessary and shouldn't even happen in the first place.

Solution two is no more cops should ever be sent for mental health checks. We need dedicated unarmed professionals to do that job, not cops. They've shown their only response is to kill the victims which is not what the call was for, but killing seems the only training they receive. How does that serve the public.

We can't change their attitudes but we can make it that much harder for them to victimize black men at these excessive rates. With no excuses for stopping them that might help.

In my city the police are no longer allowed to chase fleeing people. Car chases are not allowed. They get as much info as they can about the person or vehicle and simply track them down later.
