This! There is a contingent of men who only see protecting others as a reason to commit acts of violence or express hatred. They use the excuse of "protecting" women to demean, otherize, and even advocate for the execution of, other groups of people. Their idea of protection always seems to involve committing violence against or taking away peoples right to live happily, and that needs to be talked about too. Protecting women and children shouldn't be used as the reason for harming everyone else.
