This right here! ☝🏾☝🏾☝🏾
And nowhere was you point made more evident than in the Star Wars fandom, this past year, where this entire post played out in real time. For years, the white women in that fandom harassed, insulted, and trolled, John Boyega, a black man, (and the star of the recent movies) all over social media. The moment he clapped back (and in what I thought was a funny and indirect manner) they immediately started crying about how he was victimizing and oppressing them, harming them in some unspecified manner, by exposing the names of those who’d been harassing him for years. These were the same names, that were right in his twitter feed, for everyone to see, by the way.
And yet, the moment he called them out on their behavior, their go-to response was to start dripping white tears, and accusing him of misogyny, which is another tactic they like to perform.
Proponents of white feminism refuse to understand context and nuance, and lump all men of color into their idea of oppression, refusing to acknowledge that it is white women who have gotten men of color jailed, tortured, and lynched, by crying innocent.
And I really don’t want to hear their white noise!
