This might also account for why Black women are stereotypes as "LOUD", because we refuse to use that tone of voice with the men in our lives. Calling us loud and "aggressive" or "intimidating" is a way to shame Black women into acting subservient in the presence of men, (although this shaming has so far not worked, as far as I can tell. Now we're just loud about the shaming!)
