This is why its so incredibly frustrating to hear Democrats both-sidesing these issues, or saying things like "reaching across the aisles" and not demonizing each other as enemies. Some of these people are in fact, "enemies of rational thought", and there can be no common ground with someone who seeks the eradication of other people, or their rights.

You cannot talk sense with someone who either insists on displaying none, or who truly believes they already are displaying it. You cannot be rational with an entirely irrational person who feels highly motivated to keep being irrational. You cannot have any kind of intelligent discussion with someone who insists they know for a fact that the moon is made of green cheese, that gravity is a Liberal conspiracy to keep Christians from ascending to Heaven, or that the existences of transgender, Black, Brown, or gay people, should be eradicated.

That kind of "we should just talk to them and be rational with them" is usually the kinds of things said by people with no direct skin in the game, and who are never going to be on the receiving end of that kind of regressive batshittery!
