This is what politicians have always done since the invention of the US. They used the "savage native" stereotype to scare white people, they used the Black brute to scare white people, they used the Muslim terrorist, the Yellow Peril, the Red Scare,the immigrant rapist, the groomer gay man, all to scare white people.

Unfortunately there's a contingency of white people that are not only easily frightened by issues that were never a danger to them, but easily manipulated by that fear inot doing what they please, which is why politicians keep inventing even more things for them to be scared and outraged about.
