This is the exact same dynamic seen when any oppressed group of people responds to the violence and atrocities being committed against them. Why do you think white people are always preaching non violence to Black and Indigenous people? Why men are incensed when women fight back? Or women going to prison for killing their oppressors after years of physical abuse?

The abusers never want the abused to fight back, and constantly preach non-violence as the solution to their problems they caused, through horrific acts of violence.
