This is one of the reasons I don't go to any of my white friends (god love'em) to determine what is a danger to me. Most white people have no idea (no matter how nice or well meaning they think they are, no matter how much they might love me) of what is actually a dangerous situation for me and what isn't, sometimes they don't even know for themselves, considering certain people, situations, and even neighborhoods dangerous that I have never considered even slightly dangerous. At the same time that they feel an outsized sense of danger in some places, they experience no sense of danger in situations or around people that actually are.
