This is one of the major reasons I hate Youtube (which otherwise has a lot of useful content on it that I have to actively search for).

See, I think from my history, that its easy to figure out what type of content I want to see and/or value, but Youtube insists that not only do I not want to see content similar to what Ive consumed before, but that I want to see the junk that other tasteless individuals liked.

There are days when my recommendations page is totally blank as if the algorithm has no f*cking idea what to offer me, leaving me screaming at my TV: FFS!!! JUST OFFER ME THE KINDS OF THINGS YOU KNOW I'VE LIKED AND WATCHED BEFORE!!!

Its incredibly frustrating.
