This is one of my personal bugaboos, where white men (and it is primarily white men doing this) use experiments which are performed on middle class western white people, or literature written by that same group, in the attempt to extend certain behaviors towards all of humanity, with complete disregard to cultural factors. We can clearly see that all cultures are not like that and wouldn't behave the same way under the same circumstances.

What I find even more annoying are those people who extrapolate unrelated animal behavior to human behaviors.
