This is good advice. I started working when I was about twelve doing housesitting and babysitting jobs for my family and neighbors. I also did things like run grocery store errands for the elderly. I didn't make a lot of money but I was able to learn how to save and manage money at a young age, buy the things I needed, and take some of the financial burden off my single mother. My niece is ten and she already has that entrepreneurial spirit and I support it!
It's not too early to learn financial independence skills.
