This is bullshit because I know they’re only thinking of the comfortable, middle class white kids they see every day! This description pisses me off so much because I know they absolutely are not talking about the Black and Brown kids I meet at my job, or the ones dealing with sexual assault, domestic abuse, homelessness, or trying to parse their sexuality while dealing with bullying!

What kind of kids are they spending time with? Not the ones I know, who are dealing with all the same crap they dealt with as kids, plus extra political shit, and they are still showing up, caring about each other, trying to do better, and making the world a better place while they do it! These kids have different priorities than their grandparents. That doesn’t mean they’re soft, or that life has coddled them.
