This is a great question. If they didnt question the historical accuracy of any of the films that were listed than why question the histrical accuracy of this one, thats done in much the same vein?

These people are just looking for excuses to hate this movie and using the exact same sorry excuses that are being used by white men to gatekeep Black female characters out of Scifi/fantasy films and TV series, that of historical accuracy, and the questioning of their qualifications.

My question is this: why is it that every time Black people get excited about some form of entertainment some other Black people swan into the conversation to make sure we don't enjoy ourselves too much, get too excited, remember to be sad or angry at all times, or take a dump on whatever it is we like? Why do we live in a society where even the smallest amount of Black joy gets heavily policed by our own people?
