This! I understand this more than anything. I'm not Afro-Latina but I am a Black woman and I too have experienced people who meet me and write out the whole story of my life, based solely on what I look like, and the stories they come up with are rarely complimentary!

I grew up with all these different people telling me how to be a woman, and how I need to be in order to be considered black, or what I'm doing wrong. All these rules about what women don't do, and what black people don't do, etc. I was done with mess that real fast.
