They never questioned any of the things he said or did, for three years, and then, when they finally started asking questions, their first one was, “Is he a racist?”, when that question had long been answered (as it didn’t matter if he was or not), because his behavior was unacceptable from before he took office.

The mainstream media happily, even gleefully, disseminated his messages of hate, for every marginalized group in this country, and I think may have actually been crucial in the formation of his opinions of such people (considering how much television he watches) and then had the gall to act surprised that he existed the way he did, and had followers! The media helped to create him!
