There are YouTube videos showing how the Rapa Nui “walked” the statues to their location.

When asked how the statues (they aren’t just heads, but the heads were disproportionately large, no doubt so that they could be recognized and told apart in the minimalist carving style used) got there, the natives said “They walked.”
