Their behavior was atrocious from any kind of customer service viewpoint. In, fact, the only people they think they could have gotten away with doing that to are Black men and women. They really do believe Black women are the easiest targets to display their petty racial resentment. In fact, had they done their job correctly, you would have been away from the counter, and out of their hair a lot sooner. It was a complete waste of everybody’s time and energy. You see why Black people are so damn tired all the time. It’s just emotionally exhausting dealing with these surprise attacks all day, every day.

I work a customer service job, much like their’s, where I sit at a counter, answering questions in a public space. It would NEVER occur to me to do what those women did, and regardless of the racism, they make customer service people look bad.

We are the first line in patron satisfaction, and we are usually the customer’s first impression of any company. Its literally our job to make customers feel comfortable. If I were their supervisor, they would both have been fired, (or written up), because they caused a bad impression of my company, (and bad impressions cost money), outside of the racism itself, which was just wrong.
