The one choice that changed the course of my life was when i was about nine years old, and decided I didn't want to learn to play the piano. I had this great teacher who saw my potential for it, but I chickened out when it started getting difficult and I regretted that decision so much, that I never did that again.

I've lived my whole life not just not giving up on something because its difficult, but seeking out new things to learn all the time, and sticking with it until I think I've mastered it, after which I move on to learning the next thing. (Ironically, I never went back to learning the piano!)

Sometimes a person gets two chances though, and my second biggest decision was quitting college to work full time, which is how I ended up in the one job I always wanted when I was a kid, but thought I'd never get to do: be a librarian!
