Thank you for this. It was enlightening.
I have long thought about how horrible sexual assault must be for men, because even if their assaults were not applauded, the world has no infrastructure in place to deal with a successfully reported assault, anyway. And what’s even more horrible is the sexual assault of young boys and teenagers, by women, is equally applauded.
As bad as things are for women and girls, at least women can get help. There are no support groups, hashtags, or organizations in place to even help men emotionally cope with having their bodies used without their consent. Even the Men’s Rightists who claim to care so much about the pain of men, cannot seem to bring themselves to care about male sexual assault victims.
The only thing I ask is that men need to do this work. Women care, but we cannot do this work for them. Men need to care about this, too. Only men know what other men really need when this issue occurs, and women are too busy dealing with our own pain, from the same issue, to be of any help to men, and also unfortunately, are subject to all the same messaging that men receive about them not being assaulted.
