Thank you for this! We cannot forget our stories or or ancestors who endured so much. My grandmother had a similar story, growing up in Clarksdale MS, as cotton picking sharecroppers, and then moving North to save the lives of her sons, because MS, at the time, had one of the highest lynching rates in the US!
