Thank you for mentioning this. I don’t think people realize just how much technology aids social justice movements.

In the sixties, the newer technology of the handheld camera helped push the Civil Rights, and anti-war movements. Now we have an entire generation that not only grew up using the internet, but have hand-held, instant messaging systems, so the entire world can see, and know, exactly what’s happening in real time, anywhere in the world, directly from those who are experiencing it, without having to rely on whether or not the privileged think the situation is important enough for the rest of us to know about it.
