Some men will actually look a woman right in the eye and make the argument to her that anything she did, no matter what she did or didn't do, was worth a death sentence, just to absolve themselves of any feelings of guilt. Too many men act utterly helpless to prevent other men from harming people, and then the other half are just a little too eager to commit violence on a woman's behalf. (Notice how such men won't do the bare minimum to stop violence from happening but are happy to commit more violence to prevent it.)
