Short of removing her from American society, there’s not much you can do to protect her from the constant onslaught of beauty standards, except reinforce her own self esteem, and teach her how to be critical of it, (and that criticism can be fun). Remind her she has parts of herself that isn’t just about her looks, and watch international films with her, and discuss the beauty standards of those countries. That might actually be fun, and she will also learn to question and critique the media she’s exposed to.
