Point of contention: it wasn’t invented by the dude on Reddit. He appropriated the word from black slang, where “Karen” meant something completely different, and was for a different purpose. It was a term that was never meant to be applied to ALL white women (who are merely annoying), as it seems to be today.

You are correct though. The way it’s being used now is as an indicator of contempt for white women.
