Part of the reason they can get away with the lying, and why people support their lies, is that Blackness has been very successfully associated with violence and aggression. The mainstream media and historical slander has done an excellent job making it so that anytime anyone mentions Blackness people automatically assume violence is involved. Couple that with media depictions of cops as inherently trustworthy, just because they’re cops, and we get a recipe for disasters just like this one!
