The entire argument is wrong, because no one is out here venerating or uplifting Floyd. We watched this man die, right on our tv screens. We are remembering him, and grieving for him, warts and all. This is what pain looks like. I’m sorry she doesn’t want to know or understand that.

We champion and uplift each other in all of the Arts in which we perform, along with Academics, Politics, and Sports. The best and brightest of our community always get our love, from Beyoncé, to Serena, to Obama. We uphold these people as a declaration of our worth.

I wish Candace would take this entire strawman rant of hers, sit down and take all of the seats, pay attention, and learn something.
