Once despair gets it's hooks in a person no amount of logic seems able to unhook it. I was fortunate enough to be one of the ones who was able to dislodge it because I knew at least one human being that cared very deeply about whether or not her first born child lived or died, and I'm also pretty sure she had no idea how many times she saved my life!
