On the contrary, if you are a member of any marginalized group these people have always been here and have never been afraid to be openly hateful assholes to us! It is only a matter of degree. Remember this was a contingent of Americans who used ot openly lynch Black men and children, and picnic under the burning bodies!

People have ALWAYS been appalling in this country. They never stopped being shitty human beings!

The only difference for some of us between now and then, is that such people are louder, but I prefer them to be out in the open, as appalling as they are, then hiding behind a smiling face.
