Not just expected to be nonviolent, but constantly harangued to be nonviolent and forgiving of white people, in popular media. How often do we see images of Black people in pain or trauma, who do nothing, are never angry, are always forgiving?
It’s scary to them for Black people to own guns, because that challenges their idea of Black people being at their mercy, being harmed by them, and standing around crying about our pain, (rather than striking back.)
