No, this isn’t just child actors. This is something Disney regularly does, not preparing the people it chooses to showcase its products for their inevitable fame, and backlash.

Disney is especially bad at this when it comes to hiring actors of color, as illustrated by what happened to John Boyega, and Kelly Marie Tran, and the actor who played Jar Jar, allowing the fandom to be horribly abusive to their actors online, without a word of public support from “management”.

Disney has a habit of chewing up quite a few actors. Once Disney is done with them, once they’ve stopped shilling Disney’s products, they’re simply dropped, and left to sink or swim or their own. Some don’t make it. I’m not saying this is all Disney’s fault, but they bear at least some culpability in the destruction of these young lives.
