Liked this immensely. I love reading about people’s interpretations of this film, which often spark some of my own, such as the idea that the film itself is an example of what it critiques, colonization. It renders mute the indigenous people of Vietnam, those warred upon, in service of a story of existential crisis of two white men, and the vast military complex that backs them. As the viewers of this film, we witness these events, for our own sense of spectacle.

I’m certain there’s a greater post in there somewhere.
