Ive run into this but for different reasons. I'm a Black woman and as a result all manner of specualtion and assumptions get made about me, some of which I know, but most I don't, but I'm just going through my life being me and occasionally I run afoul of other people's thoughts about me.

I will do or say something I think is perfectly normal, but that they think is shocking for a Black person to do or say, because they had already made up their minds that I was being conventional. At 53 I still find myself being contrarian to everyone else's ideas without actually trying to do that, only finding that out what I should, or should not, have said or done after I've made some gaff.
