It runs right along with this idea that the most important thing in a woman is life, and her greatest priority, should be attracting the attention of a man. If you reject this idea, and make the choice and effort not to do so, then you're constantly being told that something is wrong with you, and you need to change your attitude.

However, if after being told your entire life, that that the most important thing you can do is attract a man's attention, and you end up being the kind of woman who actually cares about, and works hard to do just that, then you get shamed for that, too, and you need to stop acting like a slut.
