In the case of some narcissists, for example, there's a thing called "teaming". Where they try to get their people to believe they're all in whatever it is together, about to suffer the same fate as them, or that they're next. That people who are against the narcissist are also against them. Trump does this A LOT!

When trouble occurs it happens to "all of us" but when a good thing happens to the narcissist that happiness isn't shared. They take the credit because the narcissist did it all alone!
