In every cultural group there seems to be a contingent of mentally inert individuals willing to adopt the same racist talking points used against them, to apply to some other group. It's like they really don't see the connection between those two things.

I guess as long as they can attain a little power for themselves, or align themselves with the same powers who refer to them as vermin, they simply do not care.

This is an attitude that has always baffled me because I can clearly see the rule that "the betrayer himself is oft betrayed".
