I’m inclined to believe this, too. A week ago one of my favorite Youtubers was set on by people on Twitter because she said she’d hired a housekeeper. They tried to make the argument that this working class black woman (who needed help managing her hoarding tendencies) was involved in a form of “enslavement?”

I think there is a contingent of people casting around for a new villain, now that trump isn’t readily available anymore, and are just flailing wildly. There’s a lot of doomcrying and nihilism in the young, which I think is understandable. And some of them have been so caught up in being outraged for the last four years, that it’s a habit they can’t recognize or let go of. I think it’s part of the fallout of trump’s administration, and we’re probably going to see a lot more of this type of behavior.
