I'm inclined to agree. I think that the first group of people white men put a check on their behavior was white women, and they did this during the Burning Times in Europe, where women were subject to a constant state of terror of stepping out of line and being their full selves, less they be tortured and burned alive. It has taken white women several centuries to even think about reaching towards less cowed versions of who they are. I dont think white women will ever recover who or what they could have been.
