I'm also reminded of places like Rosewood and Tulsa. The oppressor basically teaching the oppressed that no place is safe for marginalized people to congregate. They teach that they will go into any safe place that we create for ourselves and destroy that too, because it was never about forced acceptance, it was always about eradication of our very existence.
