I have associated this event to the larger issue of entertainment companies that want to engage in inclusion and diversity by doing blind castings of certain types of roles, and then not protecting those actors from the inevitable white backlash to starring in said roles. Corporations need to learn to be there for their employees, and make it clear in no uncertain terms that emotional violence from the public towards actors they hired for a job is unacceptable. When a person signs on for a job they do not sign up to be emotionally abused and harassed by the public just because they’re working in their chosen profession.
What is happening to actors of color in the industry is ridiculous and irritating, and Chris is part of it now too.
