I would like so much to send you the reassurance you need for what you’re doing! What you are doing is invaluable to your kids. I grew up in a single parent home, with a mother who was on welfare, but I still very much cherish those memories of her simply being reliably in the home when we came home from school, or on the weekends.
She did all the “Mom” things with kids that stay at home moms did, like baking cookies, helping us with out homework, (or kicking us out of the house, not to return until dinner! )When we were little we had no understanding that this was an unusual thing. She worked hard to craft our lives in such a way that we didn’t know until we were much older.
What you’re doing for your kids is immeasurable. I believe they will appreciate it when t they understand later, and I think, despite your doubts so will you!😊
